The NV (2014) Blanc de Noirs Côte de Val Vilaine is fabulous. Bright, crisp and wonderfully nuanced, the 2014 oozes class. Lemon peel, Mirabelle plum, almond, white flowers and sage are nicely pushed forward. Delicate, lithe and exceptionally balanced, the 2014 hits all the right notes. The fresher, more citrus-driven side of Pinot is front and center. This is a terrific showing from the Val Vilaine, but the 2014 needs time to be at its best to unwind a bit. The expression of Pinot here is crystalline and sublime from the first taste. Disgorged: April 2016. No dosage. Score: 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2016-2030 01 December 2016 |
