Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot has as a very terroir-driven nose: very Meursault with grilled walnut and hazelnut complementing the citrus fruit that feels razor-sharp. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fresh and vibrant with satisfying depth and harmony. There is still some oak to be absorbed here, but it has wonderful focus and tension. This is a very delicious Meursault from Dominique Lafon. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017 - 2030 30 November 2016 |

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Porusots has a lifted bouquet with flinty notes emerging with aeration, a neatly attired Porosuts, straitlaced and focused. The palate has a lot of tension on the entry, lime zest and orange sorbet notes lining the tensile finish that shows very good persistence. This is like the talented but quiet student who rarely puts up his or her hand: no need to show off, the quality is all there. Score: 92 - 94 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017-2035 01 December 2014 |

Here too there is a hint of the exotic even though the essential character of the green fruit suffused nose is fresh, cool and restrained. As it usually is this is the biggest and most powerful of these 1ers with excellent mid-palate concentration that does not compromise the fine delineation of the detailed and wonderfully punchy finale that delivers outstanding persistence. Like the Goutte d'Or this is not a wine of finesse but it compensates with its fine power, depth and length. Outstanding Score: 91 - 93 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2021+ 15 June 2015 |
