This is also intensely floral with highly spiced aromas of cool and airy plum, cherry, tea and violet scents. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors is pure silk thanks mainly to the ultra-fine grained tannins that are still quite firm and I very much like the excellent persistence and lovely balance that should enable this to age effortlessly yet drink well young too. In short, this is terrific and like its younger sibling it is very Vosne in character. Outstanding Score: 93 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2022+ 15 January 2015 |

From vines located just below Richebourg on the other side of the lane, the 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots has a precise, tightly coiled bouquet that takes time to unfurl in the glass, reluctantly offering enticing raspberry, bergamot and Earl Grey. The palate is well-balanced with ripe, fleshy tannins counterbalanced by crisp acidity. It clams up a little towards the finish, although bottle age will allow it to mellow and unwind. Great mineralite on the aftertaste comes through with aeration to cap everything off nicely. Score: 91 - 93 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 December 2013 |
