Tasting Notes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Rock-solid, with a big, juicy core of crushed plum, currant and blackberry fruit stitched with mulled spice, cocoa powder and graphite notes. Shows a nice combination of muscle and racy acidity, with a dash of sandalwood on the finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Score: 92 James Molesworth, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2009-2022 15 October 2009 |

The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Etienne Gonnet (70% tank-aged Grenache, and equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre aged in 600-liter demi-muids) exhibits a darker ruby/plum color as well as an attractive bouquet of salty sea breezes, seaweed, pepper, incense, black cherries, black raspberries, and currants. Elegant, round, opulent, beautifully textured, pure, and soft, with an atypical upfront style, it should drink well for 10-12 years. Score: 92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2021 01 October 2009 |
