A deep garnet core with brick rim - typical of a ’94 vintage. The nose is meaty and savoury, certainly different to recent vintages of this Pessac. Good definition though, perhaps a little bretty. The palate is full-bodied, pleasing concentration for a ’94 Bordeaux with cedar, leather and a touch of black olive towards the dry finish. It has a rustic charm, but not much more. Tasted May 2006.
