Grands Echezeaux 1976

An overtly spicy nose is dominated by sous bois which is also evident on the lighter weight flavors that possess lovely minerality and detail on the dleicious finish that delivers solid if not truly special depth and length. There is only a touch of the typically robust '76 style tannins and absolutely no rusticity. To my taste this is fully resolved and should be drunk up sooner than later though there is no rush; that said, this is in a state of graceful decline and thus it should be enjoyed now. Two other recent examples were variable with one being a bit more vibrant than what I describe above and another displaying a slightly greenish character.
