Galatrona

Galatrona is the flagship wine of the Petrolo estate, Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC, south east of the Chianti hills. 100% Merlot, rich, ripe and opulent and concentrated. “Owner and winemaker Luca Sanjust worked with the late Denis Durantou of L'Eglise Clinet during the early years of Petrolo, and certainly you can see some of the deft playing with the possibilities of Merlot that became the signature of both men.” – Jane Anson. “When Galatrona was first produced in 1994, it paved the way for great Merlot outside of France.
