Bordeaux 2022 - 5 June

Releases from two of Bordeaux's grandees today. 

Chateau Ausone sits perched on a limestone hill above Saint Emilion, and vines have been cultivated on this famous terroir since Roman times.  Production is minuscule, at around 1500 cases per year. 

From Margaux, we also have small volumes available of Chateau Palmer and its second wine Alter Ego de Palmer, which has been named by Antonio Galloni as one of the most exciting wines of 2022, noting "The Grand Vin usually gets most of the attention at Palmer, but I found Alter Ego especially charming this year."
