We near the end of the campaign with two of the biggest names on the Right Bank in Figeac and La Conseillante.
Situated at the heart of the Pomerol plateau, Chateau La Conseillante is released at £942 per 6. Winemaker Marielle Cazaux has produced a run of incredible vintages with the 2021 described by Galloni (95-97) as "a super-classic La Conseillante... A Pomerol of vibrancy and tension". This is the 150th vintage of La Conseillante and will be in a specially designed bottle and case.
Finally we have Chateau Pavie Macquin released at £347 per 6. Since the arrival of Nicholas Thienpont in 1994 this St Emilion estate, situated just above Pavie, has gone from strength to strength. 93-95 Jeb Dunnuck "classic Pavie Macquin class, freshness, and minerality"
Chateau Figeac is released at £978 per 6. One of the most celebrated terroirs in all of Bordeaux, under the guidance of the extremely talented Frederic Faye, Figeac has been elevated back to the very highest echelons. Recent vintages have rekindled memories of the legendary wines produced here in the mid-twentieth century. The 2021 is the first vintage to come from the Chateau's new state of the art winery and once again it is one of the stars of the Right Bank. With the new St Emilion classification scheduled for this year, Figeac is the favourite for promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé A.
