Some of the final releases of the campaign today with 3 of the big hitters from the Right Bank.

Under the guidance of the extremely talented Frederic Faye, Chateau Figeac has been elevated back to the very highest echelons.  One of the most celebrated terroirs in all of Bordeaux, the scintillating 2015 and 2016 vintages were amongst the most demanded wines on release.  Undoubtedly one of the stars of the Right Bank, the thrilling 2018 is released at £1086 per 6 and is the "finest vintage ever produced" for Lisa Perrotti-Brown.  The vintage receives lavish praise from all of the leading critics and will rival some of the legendary wines produced here in the mid-twentieth century.

Chateau La Conseillante is situated at the heart of the Pomerol plateau and the "magical" 2018 displays the awesome potential of this terroir.  Since taking over as winemaker for the 2015 vintage, Marielle Cazaux has produced a run of incredible vintages and the 2018 may be the best yet, released at £1008 per 6.

Finally we have an extraordinary Chateau Cheval Blanc of great purity and elegance.  The "truly unforgettable" 2018 has potential 100 point scores from Antonio Galloni, Jeb Dunnuck, Decanter and Jeff Leve and is released at £3294 per 6.  The second wine Petit Cheval is available at £900 per 6.

97-100 AG - The 2018 Cheval Blanc is dazzling. Creamy, supple and inviting, the 2018 is endowed with phenomenal balance. The tannins and overall structure are imposing, and yet the richness of the fruit and perfect ripeness of the tannin really stand out. In 2018, Cheval is a bit richer than is often the case, but that is not at all a bad thing. I am struck by how much freshness and energy the 2018 has. Hints of lavender, spice and licorice add shades of nuance, but it is the wine's overall sense of harmony that leaves the strongest impression. A precise counterpoint of fruit richness and finesse makes for a truly unforgettable Cheval Blanc.

CONSEILLANTE |   £1008 per 6x75
97-100 JD - 2018 boasts a saturated purple color as well as incredible purity in its blue and black fruits, spice, liquid flower, and violet-like characteristics. Full-bodied, pure and seamless on the palate as well, it’s flawlessly balanced, with building yet sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. It's going to flirt with perfection. Hats off to Marielle for another magical wine from this estate, which has quickly risen into the top echelon of estates in Bordeaux.

FIGEAC |   £1086 per 6x75
97-100 WS - This is pretty gorgeous, with a velvety texture that lets nearly exotic cassis, plum and blackberry fruit reduction flavors roll through. Has a beautiful baseline of warm earth and smoldering tobacco notes all while keeping its sensational mouthfeel. The encore on the finish makes you realize this is the serious gourmet stuff. One of the highlights of the vintage.
