BURGUNDY 2017
'very good, often excellent, and from time to time, bloody awesome'
Neal Martin, Vinous
The 2017 vintage for reds is described as a “modern classic” with Burgundy’s trademark finesse, but no shortage of ripeness. 2017 is less extreme than either the 2015 (opulence) or 2016 (concentration) but the epitome of Burgundy, with floral aromatics (violets, lavender) with hints of orange zest, followed by middleweight red and forest fruits supported by silky fine tannins, and fresh balanced acidity make them appealing over a wide drinking window.
"The 2017 reds are very good, often excellent, and from time to time, bloody awesome"
Neal Martin, Vinous
"when the 2017s are good, they are very good (even sometimes great) and entirely classic in style... the 2017s deserve a place in your cellars and there is no reason not to buy what you can afford."
Allen Meadows, Burghound
