Burgundy 2017: BALLOT-MILLOT

Ballot-Millot.jpg

In 2001 Charles Ballot took over the running of the Domaine from his father Philippe and has since strived to establish it as one of the finest producers in Meursault.  The Domaine boasts an enviable selection of 1er Cru holdings and recent vintages have stood up admirably to the likes of Lafon in the annual blind Burgfest tastings.

These are some beautifully pure, racy whites that display great elegance and finesse and have the ability to age.  Still relatively under the radar, Ballot-Millot’s wines offer incredible quality and value.

Selected Highlights

2017 MEURSAULT NARVAUX£225 per 6x75cl IB - “Tangy herbal and crisp citrus aroma. Impressive intensity on the palate, part fruit and part acidity, giving good balance. " 16+pts Julia Harding MW
2017 MEURSAULT PERRIERES - £450 per 6x75cl IB - “Super-inviting aroma of citrus fruit and something between rocks and spice that is zesty and fragrant. Impressive concentration on the palate. This has depth but a very precise, clean-cut profile on the palate, with really good length."  17+pts Julia Harding MW
