BORDEAUX 2015: A New Benchmark for Bordeaux

VCC

New in bottle scores for the 2015 Bordeaux vintage have now been published by the Wine Advocate, James Suckling, Antonio Galloni and most recently by Neal Martin.

The 2015 vintage has produced some incredibly fresh, elegant and structured wines that beautifully display the character of their respective appellations with many impressing even more in bottle than they did from barrel.

We can offer a great selection of 2015s from across the appellations and at all levels.

"There are many stupendous wines in Bordeaux, marked by their expressive aromatics, fineness of tannins, terroir expression and, if it is something you covet, approachability... 2015 is a great Bordeaux vintage that is going to give a lot of pleasure. There are bargains to be found on the lower rungs of the hierarchy, lest we forget that Bordeaux remains one of the best value regions on the planet if you seek carefully at Cru Bourgeois level, or the satellite appellations of the Right Bank or the less glamorous appellations"
Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

"There are a number of truly magical wines in 2015. On the Left Bank, Margaux and Saint-Julien are the epicenter of brilliance. I also tasted a number of fabulous 2015s from Pauillac and Pessac-Léognan…  There are a handful of Right Bank wines that ascend into the realm of the truly epic. As tempting as it is to focus on the most famous names, the real joy in 2015 is in the mid and lower-tier, where the best wines are gorgeous and also remain affordable for mere mortals."
Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"the 2015 vintage has lived up to its great potential in every sense of the word. Red, white or sweet, the wines show wonderful harmony, intensity, structure and freshness. Exciting and exquisite, the best of 2015s benefit enormously from this freshness quality, which derives from the slightly higher acidity and lower alcohol levels. In comparison to the wines produced in other highly rated years, such as 2009 and 2010, the 2015 vintage’s new gained freshness helps carve out a classic structure and form… 2015 has truly made phenomenal, transparent wines that emphasize the greatness of their terroirs. This vintage is definitely a new benchmark for Bordeaux... Not only are they chic to drink, but they’re attractively priced, too. The 2015s were sold at substantially lower prices than 2016, and it’s only now that the prices are beginning to go up. I suggest buying some if you haven’t already. I am going to buy a few cases myself and enjoy drinking some now, knowing all the while that they will be excellent for the decades ahead."
James Suckling

"2015 is an extraordinary vintage for the communes of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Fronsac, Graves and Pessac-Léognan... there are extraordinary wines across a vast range of styles, offering something to appeal to all lovers of red wine!"
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
