Latour 2000 - Ex Chateau - Final Release

Latour 2000
Chateau Latour famously withdrew from the en Primeur system in 2012 in favour of releasing wines onto the market only when a vintage is deemed ready by the Chateau.  We now have an eagerly-awaited release from Chateau Latour, with exciting news that they have released stocks of Chateau Latour 2000, and its second wine, Forts de Latour 2009, onto the market.

  • A tour de force of breathtaking power and elegance, Latour 2000 is a fabulous wine, from the vintage that marked the modern era of winemaking.  Monumental and dense, Robert Parker believes that it will be ready for drinking now but its depth and classic style means that its drinking window is only just beginning and will last decades.
  • Its second label, Les Forts de Latour, is a stunning wine in its own right and regularly outperforms many Classed Growths.  In 2009 its quality is superb, at the level of a top Super-Second, the 2009 described by Robert Parker as "Possibly the best second wine ever made at Latour".

The Chateau has advised that this release represents the final residue of their stocks of Latour 2000, to only a handful of select merchants.  The newly released stock carries the Prooftag Bubble Tag™ seal of traceability and authenticity.  To read more about this click here.  The price (at 10% above market stock) represents a sensible premium for an iconic wine aged at the Chateau for fifteen years.

Stocks are limited so please let us know ASAP if you would like to place an order.
