"Egly-Ouriet is one of the reference-point growers in Champagne, with a deep selection of wines that offer remarkable transparency to site, vintage and variety. The small, bare-bones winery is located in Ambonnay, one of Champagne's 17 Grand Cru villages, best-known for yielding broad-shouldered, exuberant Pinot Noir-based wines. The house style is defined by first-class fruit, extended lees aging and no fining and/or filtration. These are among the most pure, unmanipulated Champagnes readers will come across
Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate

"The wines are phenomenally great and rich. The grower is very close to gaining five stars through his fantastic development in recent years. Probably the foremost grower of Pinot Noir in the entire Champagne region nowadays."
Richard Juhlin, ChampagneClub.com

"so good that I have begun buying them to drink chez moi"

NV Vignes De Vrigny Egly-Ouriet - Bottles 5 - 300 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Egly-Ouriet's NV Brut Premier Cru les Vignes de Vrigny is 100% Pinot Meunier that was disgorged in January 2014, after it spent 42 months on the lees. Golden in color, it offers a clear, fresh and complex bouquet of matured apples, raisins, nougat, red berries and some floral notes. Very delicate on the palate, this is a remarkable, finesse-full, lighthearted Champagne of great elegance. The 12.5% of alcohol is feather-light here, though the finish shows structure as well. This is a lovely Champagne for breakfast, aperitif or for its own merit. Surely one of the finest Pinot Meuniers I have tasted this year."

NV Brut Tradition Egly-Ouriet - Bottles 5 - 310 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Golden-yellow in color the, NV Brut Tradition Grand Cru is a deep, pure, extremely fine and complex assemblage of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay cultivated in three grands crus: Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay. The wine I tasted was mainly based on 2007 (50%), 2006 (30%) and 2005 (20%) ,and disgorged after 54 months in January 2014 with a dosage of three or four grams per liter. Super refined, fresh and pure but also deep, ripe and complex on the highly elegant nose, this superb champagne reveals a great elegance, balance and super finesse as well as complexity, structure and length on the palate. An admirable Cuvée!"

NV VP Extra Brut Egly-Ouriet - Bottles 1 6 380 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Based on 2005 (60%) and 2004 (40%), the NV Grand Cru V P Extra- Brut (Viellissement Prolongé) is an assemblage of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, which was bottled in 2008 and disgorged after 72 months in July 2012. Golden-yellow in color, this wine opens clear, deep, ripe, concentrated and very fine on the nose displaying caramel and brioche aromas along with ripe peach, red paprika, red berry and rhubarb flavors, notes of black bread and a refreshing dash of lime juice. The attack on the palate is highly elegant, super fine and balanced again. This full-bodied yet pure and precise Champagne from the grands crus of Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay reveals a nobly elegant, harmonious, fruit intense and almost sweetish texture as well as a long, very fine and fresh finish with a lingering and stimulating salinity. There is purity and intensity in this wine that should taste great for at least 5-6 years."

2004 Grand Cru Millesime Egly-Ouriet - Magnums 1 - 780 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Golden in color, the 2004 Brut Millésime Grand Cru offers an intense and precise aroma of slightly toasted whole-grain bread, brownish apples, apple strudel, oranges, dried fruits, raisins, brioche, and hints of mocha and nougat. This full-bodied yet lovely, really pure and dry wine is very elegant, quite expressive on the palate, and finishes with a refreshing lime aroma and citric acidity. This is a classic for fans of complex Champagnes of great purity and finesse. The wine is very well structured and quite firm in the finish and aftertaste, and can be stored for 4-5 years. The wine was sourced from old vines in grands cru vineyards of Ambonnay and bottled for the second fermentation without filtration. It was then kept on the lees for 100 months and disgorged in November 2013."

NV Egly Ouriet Rose Egly-Ouriet - Bottles 2 - 420 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Light, bright orange. Pungent redcurrant and cherry on the perfumed nose, with a smoky mineral quality adding complexity and lift.  Firm, sharply focused cherry and rose pastille flavors display excellent concentration and pick up a spicy element with air. Shows a hint of blood orange on the finish, which lingers with strong mineral-driven persistence. About 10% of this blend is still red wine from Ambonnay."

NV Egly Ouriet Rose Egly-Ouriet - Magnums 1 - 480 per Case Add to shopping cart
"Sourced from the Grand Cru terroirs of Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzena, the salmon-colored NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru offers an invitingly clear, fresh and subtle bouquet of red fruits along with floral and lemon aromas. Very delicate and elegant in the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine develops an impressive intensity and finesse. The finish is long and complex, and combines the purity of perfectly ripe framboise with mineral intensity and structure. This is an impressive Rosé of great finesse and purity, and a remarkably refined expression of its terroirs that often give full and fruit intense but less refined Champagnes. The wine I tasted was disgorged after 42 months on the lees in January 2014, and should be in great condition for 4-5 years, if not longer."
