The most famous wine of the Languedoc
- Since the first vintage of his red wine in 1978 Guibert has shown that it is possible to produce World class wines in the Languedoc region. "The only Grand Cru of the Midi" (Hugh Johnson), "A Lafite in Languedoc" (Gault & Millau), and "Exceptional" (Robert Parker); just a sample of the praise the wines have received over the years.
We are pleased to offer the 2012 vintage, a great example of this outstanding terroir at the best price in the market.
"This was one of the first Languedoc-Roussillon estates to fully exploit the potential that exists in this windswept, sunny region. I have had the pleasure of buying, cellaring, and drinking all of the Mas de Daumas Gassac reds since 1978...The wines have always possessed good depth and robustness, but they are best drunk in their first 5-6 years of life when they are exuberant, fiery, and mouthfilling."
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #112

"Bright crimson. Lightly animal but with great breadth and richness. But freshness too. Impressive and savoury. Drink 2014-2020"

"Hidden inside a strong flight of appellation wines costing between €20 and €30 was Languedoc's most celebrated IGP, the 2012 Mas de Daumas Gassac. It showed well ... confirming my view that the new Guibert generation are doing a fine job in bringing more density, expressive force and overall excitement to this wine than it had a decade ago. It seemed effortlessly Languedocien, too, not a Bordelais in exile; the Cabernet component brought nobility of flavour to what has to be the strangest varietal blend in France."
Andrew Jefford, Decanter
"Pepper and spice and dark fruit and really peppery on the palate. Tannins are already fluid with freshness and elegance and pulling in to some fine tannins in the finish. Refined. Drink 2016-2022"
