Primeur

Following the Lafite wines on Monday (Duhart Milon, Evangile, Rieussec) this morning rival Pauillac First Growth Mouton Rothschild enters the fray with all of their wines now available.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild
is now released, available at £2330 per 12 or £1165 per 6. There is obvious quality and class this year but significantly it represents pretty good value in comparison with other available vintages: 20% cheaper than 2012, -25% on 2008 and -30% on 2006.

Armailhac at £230 and Clerc Milon at £320 are serious Classed Growths, both also from Pauillac and there is more than a touch of the Mouton style, here with good richness.  Once again these are cheaper than 2012 by 5% and there is clear space (c. 25%) between prices on available vintages 2011, 2008, 2007, while the 2014s are clearly superior.  We can also offer their dry white, Aile d'Argent with a huge score from James Suckling.

We also have St Julien stalwart, Beychevelle now available at £415 per case. An Asian favourite, the Chateau keeps it release price punchily high but nonetheless, it is cheaper than any available vintage.
