Duhart Milon label.jpg
This morning sees the first big releases of the campaign  from the Chateau Lafite stable.

While physical vintages of Duhart Milon have halved in value since the runaway days of the Lafite boom, the wise people at Chateau Lafite have recognised this and released the 2014 at a significant discount to any physical vintage. This is exactly what En Primeur should be about!  In fact the next cheapest physical vintage of Duhart Milon that we can offer is the less impressive 2012 at £495 per case

At £400 we can therefore recommend Duhart Milon 2014 as a buy.  This is the best vintage of Duhart we have tasted since the 2010.

Evangile at £860 per case is higher than we would have liked. Even though we enjoyed the wine there are phyiscal vintages available for less. However, the Chateau compare the 2014 to their 2001 vintage which sells for £950 per case.

Rieussec is offered at £390 and scores a massive 97-98 from James Suckling. Unfortunately there is lots of physical Rieussec in the market of a similar quality and better priced including the excellent, ripe 2007 Rieussec (93-96 James Suckling) which we can offer at £295 per case.

Some  releases from St Estephe that we really enjoyed are also now available:-

Chateau Capbern (formerly Capbern Gasqueton) is made by Calon Segur and we found it beautiful this year with a very polished texture. We can now offer at £110 per case.

Meyney, a neighbour of Montrose is very successful this year with good richness and we can offer at £160 per case.

We were also impressed with Lafon Rochet which we can offer at £220.

Wine offered en primeur (available Spring 2017 In Bond UK).  For enquiries please email the team or contact us on 01223 849040.
