Tasting Notes

Creamy with savoury black notes, toasty oak and a drying finish.

Score: 86 - 88 Albany Vintners, - Date: 01 April 2014

Impressive deep colour, good Cabernet black fruits, good structure and length, good future.

Score: 87 Decanter, Decanter.com Maturity: 2018-2024 Date: 01 April 2014

Rounded, friendly style, with a core of blueberry and plum fruit coated liberally with a roasted vanilla bean note. A bit obvious in style but has the fruit for balance.

Score: 86 - 89 James Molesworth, Wine Spectator Date: 01 April 2014

A balanced, refined wine with silky tannins and a blackberry and dark-cherry character. Medium to full body. Clean mineral and dark-fruit character.

Score: 89 - 90 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 01 April 2014

A blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon the Château La Tour Carnet 2014 has a tight knit, slightly herbaceous bouquet with plenty of sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with green-tinged black peppery fruit on the entry, although it attains a decent degree of harmony towards the finish. Tasted March 2014.

Score: 85 - 87 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Date: 01 April 2014

Juicy cassis and smart, toasty oak aromas. Good concentration and persistence on the palate, plenty of floury tannin to finish. Serious, savoury and worthy of cellaring. (17+)
