The 2016 Blason d'Issan is a plump, forward second wine from Issan. Sweet tobacco, cedar, leather and licorice add character to this supple, fruity Margaux. Drink it over the next few years. Score: 89 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2019-2024 Date: 01 January 2019 |

The 2016 Blason d’Issan has a rich, generous bouquet of ample blackberry, tar and light violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, smooth tannin and plenty of tobacco-tinged black fruit that fans out nicely toward the sharp finish. A very capable second wine from d’Issan. Score: 89 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2020-2028 Date: 01 January 2019 |

The 2016 Blason d'Issan is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 60% Merlot matured in 35% new oak. It has a light, slightly earthy bouquet with blackberry and autumn leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, quite crisp, but there is a touch of hardness on the finish that will need to be addressed during the élevage. Score: 85 - 87 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2019-2025 Date: 28 April 2017 |

Fresh and penetrating aroma. Luscious texture. Doesn’t taste like a second wine! Just a little stodgy on the finish. Score: 16 - 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2020-2026 Date: 17 April 2017 |

This is a fantastic Blason with gorgeous fruit and velvety tannins. Full-bodied and dense with soft and velvety tannins. Lovely acidity at the end. Best ever second wine from here. Score: 93 - 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 24 March 2017 |
