Tasting Notes

The second wine of both Haut Brion Blanc and La Mission Haut Brion Blanc benefitting from fruit which doesn’t quite meet the strict selection for the two Grands Vins. Bright and fresh with yellow apple and hints of lime/citrus. Fresh and bold, with pleasing concentration and length.

Score: 89 - 92 Albany Vintners, - Date: 27 April 2016

The 2015 La Clarté de Haut-Brion is soft, open-knit and wonderfully expressive. Scents of peach, apricot and white pepper meld together in an effortless, totally gracious white that will drink well early. This is a strong showing from the Clarté, Haut-Brion's second white wine.

27% Sauvignon Blanc, 73% Sémillon. Picked on both vineyards 28 August to 8 September. Very sweet Sémillon nose - almost honey! A hint of cat - very mineral. The Sémillon is all on the nose at the moment and the palate seems dominated by Sauvignon character. Lots to chew on. 14.6%

A solid wine with sliced apple and pear aromas and flavors. Full body and energetic. Lively. Second wine of Haut-Brion and La Mission.

Score: 92 - 93 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 01 April 2016

The 2015 La Clarté de Haut-Brion is a blend of 27% Sauvignon Bland and 73% Semillon picked between August 28 and September 8. Lime and dried pineapple furnish the nose that is uncomplicated, but fresh and charming, with hints of honeysuckle developing in the glass. The palate is fresh and edgy on the entry with lime, green apple and chalky notes, moderate weight in the mouth with just a slightly clipped finish. Enjoy this over the next decade.
