Tasting Notes

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Belgrave has a nose of crushed black currant, chocolate-covered cherries, warm plums and lilacs with touches of garrigue and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied with firm, ripe, grainy tannins and wonderfully pure black fruits with lovely floral accents, it finishes long and perfumed.

This Classed Growth is situated just outside the St Julien appellation west of Beychevelle. Usually a great value. Fresh and generous ripe dark fruits and a hint of tobacco and earth. Firm with smooth tannins.

Score: 89 - 91 Albany Vintners, - Date: 27 April 2016

Very very intense dark crimson. Very fresh and vital. Clearly lots of work has gone into the Dourthe flagship. Smooth as satin but with good dry vitality. Really racy. (16.5+ Points)

Score: 16 - 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2023-2032 Date: 01 April 2016

A rich and spicy young red with chocolate, plum and berry aromas and flavors. Full and silky textured. Very attractive.

Score: 90 - 91 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 01 April 2016

The 2015 Belgrave has a vivacious bouquet with cedar and cigar box-infused black fruit that really leaps from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, plenty of blackberry and crushed strawberry fruit with fine mineralité coming through on the finish. This is a very fine 2015 from this Haut-Médoc estate.

Score: 90 - 92 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2032 Date: 01 April 2016

Plump and soft-edged, with cherry and blackberry notes lined with light cedar and tobacco hints.
